Accommodations

Tank Deck:

Aft of a collision bulkhead on the tank deck level is the forward hold area for storage of additional tenders, wave runners, spares, stores, lines, spare anchor, fenders, deck and SCUBA compressors etc. The toys are lifted out by a massive 9 ton hydraulic crane through triple hatch covers, which are lifted by the crane and piggy-back to allow access to the hold. Aft of the hold is a large dry store area with two walk-in fridges and two walk-in freezers, as well as dry stores and a bonded customs locker. Aft of the stores space is the auxiliary engine room housing fridge and air-conditioning compressors, fans, twin reverse-osmosis water-makers, Evac and sewage system as well as the engine room workshop. Further aft is the main engine room, housing the main engine, generators, fuel and lube oil purifiers, electrical switchboard and main pumps.

Main Deck:

Aft of the forecastle deck, which has anchoring gear, a paint store and a ventilated gasoline store, there is the main tender deck which houses all the tenders and toys that are not stored in the hold underneath, or on the forecastle or poop deck. There is capacity for up to a 38’ (11.6m) tender on the starboard side and a 34’ (10.4m) tender on the port side, plus wave runners and smaller tenders as required. The 9 ton hydraulic crane is mounted forward and can launch any of the toys off either side of the ship. There is a bunker station further aft of the tender deck, from which diesel engine’d tenders can also be fueled.

The accommodations are from midships aft and are spread over four decks, including the ‘sundeck’.

Guest Cabins:

On the port side forward is a guest stateroom (Owners stateroom on GA), with a king bed, desk and audio/visual system. Attached is an en suite bathroom with twin sinks, bathtub with shower over, toilet and bidet. This stateroom also benefits from having a walk-in wardrobe which connects to stateroom (1 on GA), which has a king size bed with Pullman berth over, desk and an en suite bathroom with sink, bathtub with shower over and toilet, as well as ample hanging space.

Opposite to starboard is a cinema with large couches and an enormous bed measuring 82” x 92”. The cinema has been used as the 6th guest stateroom many times, using the toilet and shower adjacent to the sauna as the facilities for this cinema/stateroom.

Aft of the cinema is guest stateroom (2 on GA), with a queen sized bed, desk, audio/visual system and ample hanging lockers. Attached is an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet and bathtub with shower over.

Aft down the passageway, there is guest stateroom (3 on GA) to port with twin, extra-long berths, desk, audio/visual system and ample hanging locker space and an en suite bathroom with sink, bathtub with shower over and toilet.

Opposite to starboard is a queen berth guest stateroom (4 on GA) with desk, settee, ample hanging lockers and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet and bathtub with shower over.

At the aft end of the guest accommodations area is a sauna with adjoining toilet and shower.

Aft on this deck, and separated by a door, is the crew accommodations area with 8 cabins, all with en suite bathrooms, some with twin berths, some with single berths.

At the aft end of the crew accommodation are the steering gear compartment and laundry.

Saloon Deck:

The main salon is forward in the superstructure, looking out and forward over the tender deck. It is a lovely space with lounging couches, chairs, settees, a small game table, bar cabinet, audio visual equipment and pop-up flat screen television.

In the middle of the guest accommodation, on the starboard side is the main deck lobby with central staircase up to the owner’s accommodations, another day toilet and access to the sundeck, and down to the guest accommodation.

Aft of the main salon on the port side is the dining room which seats 18 around a rectangular table.

The extensively equipped main galley is immediately aft and full beam so it easily services the dining room, as well as the crew mess and day room immediately aft. A dumb waiter connects the galley to the sundeck, two decks above. There is additional provision storage space and a crew day head in the aft crew day section.

Bridge Deck:

The wheelhouse has a walk around console for the navigation equipment, with two helm chairs and a chart table and navigation area and small office space to port. The Captain’s cabin with a double berth and en suite shower room is on the port side and accessed directly from the bridge.

There is access aft on the starboard side from the bridge, past the staircase and day toilet, directly to the owner’s suite, which is aft on the bridge deck.

Owner’s Accommodation:

The bridge deck owner’s suite is large, light, bright and airy with a desk to starboard, a California king berth to port and extensive audio visual equipment. The en suite bathroom has a huge shower, toilet and bidet is accessed via a walk through closet. Sliding doors lead to the owner’s gym from where two sliding doors (to port and starboard) give access to the “outside salon” which is covered by the hard overhead. Both sides and aft are open but could be closed and protected with clear curtains in inclement weather. There is a lounging settee in this delightful airy area, with an unobstructed views to both sides and aft.

Sundeck:

This absolutely stunning and really practical area is one of the many alterations/additions made by the current owner and, with 360 degree views, is the perfect area to lounge, enjoy the scenery as you cruise amazing locations, and dine or entertain a multitude of guests in comfort and style. Few yachts can boast such a space.

The forward section is totally enclosed but with large, sliding windows and folding doors that can be opened up for through ventilation, a large lounging area, dining table and the usual, audio visual equipment. The aft section has a large, circular dining table seating up to 12, but which can be extended to double this. A dumb waiter connects the sundeck directly with the galley, two decks below. Three divans offer ample lounging and, in the event of inclement weather, clear screens can be rolled down to offer protection from the elements.

Forward of, and slightly above the sundeck is an open air lounging area. Above the sundeck is the helicopter deck.

Helicopter Deck:

The “touch and go” helicopter deck is located above the sundeck. It is strengthened to land, for touch and go purposes, a large helicopter such as an EC 135 or EC 145 (or similar) since there are absolutely no impediments to significant rotor clearance.

Interior Notes:

The interior of AMAZON EXPRESS is generally finished in teak or light mahogany paneling with judicious use of painted and fabric areas. Most importantly the interior design is in the minimalist style by the very famous Milan architect, Ettore Sottsass. His brilliance shows throughout. The layout of AMAZON EXPRESS is smartly arranged, always with efficiency for owner, guests and crew at the forefront of the design brief. The layout takes advantage of the very best spaces available in all accommodation areas and truly brings the outside into the vessel and importantly takes advantage of many shaded areas.
