The vessel is powered by twin 343D Caterpillar diesel engines which are 6 cylinder, fresh water cooled, turbocharged, and produce 400 horsepower each. They were completely rebuilt in 2005. The engines are aft of the crew's quarters. There are two D3304 Caterpillar/General Electric generators in piggyback between the main engines and each produce 75 KVA of AC electrical power. The exhausts are dry stack and the surrounding areas are protected.
